Job summary
We're hiring a Strategic Technology Lead — a unique, high-trust role working directly alongside a successful entrepreneur and business founder based in Dublin. This is not a predefined job in a rigid structure — it's a high-impact, flexible role where you'll guide the tech strategy, software choices, and scaling roadmap across multiple ventures.
Responsibilities
- Act as the go-to technology advisor to the founder across all projects and business lines.
- Evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and ventures from a technical and strategic perspective.
- Guide technology selection — understanding the why behind the stack, not just the what.
- Review and assess technical architecture, systems, and codebases (internal or external) with a strong eye for software quality and scalability.
- Act as a technical sounding board — helping shape ideas, challenge assumptions, and suggest better alternatives.
- Stay tapped into the tech ecosystem, particularly in AI, software, and emerging trends that could impact or accelerate business growth.
- Lead or oversee the sourcing of tech talent, partners, or platforms as needed to scale operations or launch new ventures.
- Help build out a sustainable tech strategy across business units, with a focus on long-term value, not quick fixes.
Qualifications
- Strong software development background — you know good code from bad and why it matters at scale.
- Experience in technical leadership or advisory roles, preferably in startups, scaleups, or venture environments.
- Deep understanding of how software architecture decisions impact business performance — from cost and speed to maintainability and growth.
- Familiarity with modern software stacks, SaaS platforms, APIs, and AI/ML technologies.
- Commercial awareness — you understand business models, go-to-market timing, and how to balance innovation with execution.
- Curious, critical thinker — someone who can ask the right questions and offer meaningful answers.
- Excellent communicator — able to explain complex tech to non-technical people and vice versa.
- Networked in the local or global tech/startup community, with a passion for staying ahead of the curve.
