    Description

    Egis Lagan Services Ltd is a newly formed company specifically established to undertake motorway maintenance and renewals work on the Irish motorway network on behalf of the National Roads Authority. Our responsibility extends some 330km of mainline carriageway across designated sections of the M7, M8, M9 motorways and the N25/N40 road network in the Cork City environs.

    Egis Lagan Services will be responsible for all operation and maintenance activities on the relevant sections of the primary motorway network. Key activities include winter maintenance, emergency and incident response, inspections and patrolling, defect remedial works, traffic management and stakeholder liaison.

    • Program, undertake and report on detailed inspections of the Motorway and associated infrastructure.
    • Operate the GIS based Routine Maintenance Management System (RMMS).
    • Carry out the Routine Inspections of bridge structures and update the Employer's bridge management system (EIRSPAN).
    • Plan and undertake routine network safety inspections.
    • Update asset data in the RMMS Asset Management module.
    • Identify defects and work with the maintenance team to ensure they are repaired in accordance with the contract specifications.
    • Participate in preparing costing for additional Employer instructed works orders.
    • Assist in the management and supervision of subcontractor works to ensure adherence to H&S policies, ensuring the quality of delivered works and monitoring of works programming.
    • Liaise with Local Authorities, Gardai, sub-contractors, public and Employer's Representatives.
    • Undertake winter maintenance monitoring duties and maintain records on the VAISALA winter maintenance management system.
    • Support emergency response crews to ensure adequate resources are available where necessary.
    • Work with the maintenance team to develop and review the programme for cyclical and routine maintenance operations.
    • Participate in internal and external company audits.
    • Prepare traffic management plans to facilitate safe access for works.
    • Provide relevant inputs to monthly operations reports.
    • Adhere to the company's H&S management system and provide input into opportunities for continual improvement of the systems.

    Profile

    • Level 6 qualification in construction, engineering, or related field.
    • Relevant experience with a background in Motorway or Road construction/maintenance/design.
    • Experience working within a team environment.
    • Level 7 or 8 engineering qualification.
    • H&S related training· Knowledge of motorway maintenance processes and bridge construction/maintenance techniques.
    • Experience with GIS based systems.
    • Experience with tendering procedures
    • Experience in preparing written reports
    • Experience in site management
    • Experience in preparation of a Safety File

    Skills/Abilities

    • Excellent organisational skills.
    • Ability to work on own initiative.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Fluent and proficient in English written and oral communication.
    • AutoCAD knowledge.
    • GIS Based System knowledge.
