    Description

    Position Overview:

    As a Mechatronics Engineer at Manna Drone Delivery, you will be responsible for the design and development of various systems. You will work at the intersection of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, ensuring that our drones operate optimally in various environments and conditions. Your role will involve designing innovative solutions, conducting testing and analysis, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to achieve our delivery objectives.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the development of prototypes and proof-of-concept models, integrating mechanical, electrical, and software components to demonstrate functionality and performance.
    • Develop control algorithms and implement them to regulate the behaviour of drones, ensuring stability, manoeuvrability, and efficiency during flight.
    • Integrate sensors and perception systems into UAS.
    • Developing and decomposing requirements and developing specifications (for both internal and external stakeholders)
    • Conduct rigorous testing and validation procedures to assess the performance, reliability, and safety of drone systems under various operating conditions.
    • Collaborate with software engineers, hardware engineers, and other stakeholders to seamlessly integrate mechatronic systems with overall drone architecture.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of design specifications, test results, and technical reports, facilitating knowledge sharing and project tracking.
    • Managing and supporting the technical aspects of supplier relationships

    Requirements

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical and Systems Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • 5+ years' experience in mechatronic system design, preferably in the aerospace, robotics, or autonomous systems industry.
    • Proven experience with design and development of electromechanical systems in a highly regulated industry.
    • Thorough understanding of manufacturing technologies, along with DFM and NPI experience.
    • Experience or training in systems engineering a bonus.
    • Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design and PLM (CATIA/3Dexperience preferred) and experience with rapid prototyping techniques.
    • Strong understanding of control theory, dynamics, and motion planning algorithms.
    • Experience with embedded systems programming, particularly in C/C++ and familiarity with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C.
    • Knowledge of sensor technologies (e.g., IMUs, lidars, cameras) and experience with sensor fusion techniques.
    • Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, ROS) for modelling and analysis of mechatronic systems.
    • Control systems engineering knowledge (Tuning motors, PID control, etc.)
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
