    Sous Chef The Unicorn Bar is a well-established eatery and drink emporium on the south side of Limerick city.

    Since 1962, we pride ourselves on customer service and quality produce, attributes we believe are the reasons it has stood the test of time.

    A Greene Family establishment since 1962. We are currently recruiting an experiencedSous Chef.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, development, and execution, ensuring high-quality standards are consistently met. Supervise kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management, to maintain efficiency and excellence in food preparation. Oversee kitchen operations during service, ensuring smooth workflow, timely delivery of meals, and adherence to health and safety regulations. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies to ensure sufficient stock of fresh ingredients and minimize waste. Collaborate with the culinary team to innovate and refine dishes, staying abreast of food trends and customer preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to sanitation and hygiene standards.


    Qualifications and Experience:
    Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, flavour profiles, and food safety protocols. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire kitchen staff to achieve excellence. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of working effectively with a diverse team. Proficiency in menu planning, cost control, and inventory management. Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred.
