    Buyer/Planner Job Description

    We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer/Planner to join our team at HKC Security, a leading designer and manufacturer of intruder alarm solutions for the UK and Irish markets.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Sourcing and purchasing electronic components and other materials required for manufacturing intruder alarm systems.
    • Collaborating with production, product management, and R&D teams to accurately forecast the materials needed based on production schedules, market demand, and new product launch plans.
    • Evaluating and onboarding new suppliers that align with category management strategy and our company's quality, pricing, and sustainability standards.
    • Aligning procurement strategies with the company's sustainability goals, such as reducing waste, sourcing eco-friendly materials, and improving energy efficiency.
    • Negotiating pricing, payment terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure the best value for the company and to achieve group KPIs.

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Proven extensive experience (min. 7 years) in the procurement of electronic components within a multinational manufacturing or electronics environment and experience managing vendor relationships in other jurisdictions.
    • Familiarity with WEEE regulations and experience in reporting for WEEE compliance and knowledge of INCO Terms, export processes, customs regulations, and international shipping logistics.
    • Experience in material forecasting and inventory management and excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Knowledge of ERP systems and material procurement software as Pegasus or MS AX and knowledge of OTIF and MTPT and related business KPIs.
