    Job Description

    The purpose of this role is to manage the day to day operations and organisation of Sample Receipt and Sample Prep ensuring samples are processed accurately, promptly and efficiently for required testing while maintaining high standards of compliance with Health and Safety, Quality System and Customer requirements.

    Delivering improved and consistent customer service through people and project management, service delivery and cost control.

    Providing leadership, supervisory management, training and support to the team by proactive and effective planning of workload and resources. To proactively assist management with development of the department to ensure both Eurofins business objectives and Customer requirements are consistently delivered. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager. This position will be filled in a two week period.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure Sample Receipt and Sample Prep are operated in a safe manner in accordance with Eurofins H&S system requirements.
  • Ensure samples are registered and stored in accordance with documented procedures including attention to temperature control, storage, preservation and prevention of cross- contamination (where relevant).
  • Ensuring that all samples are registered, prepared and subcontracted on time and with accurate information.
  • To ensure that queries are dealt with and any samples without complete information are managed with relevant stakeholders.
  • Work to prioritise customer samples and ensure there is a good level of understanding of customer requirements.
  • Ensure the sample receipt is run at maximum efficiency giving clear direction on sample priority, testing requirements and procedures.
  • Ensure that resources, equipment, materials and staff are properly managed at all times.
  • To uphold and maintain company and customer confidentiality at all times.
  • Ensuring that excellent standards of housekeeping and hygiene are maintained at all times according to stipulated procedures.
  • Ensure Compliance to the 17025 standard at all times by adhering to the in house quality procedures provided.
  • To be accountable for customer satisfaction, notably through customer service and the ability to understand the customers' requirements. Be constantly aware of the customer's requirements and strive to meet those requirements at all times.
  • To work closely with the other teams including laboratory management in customer retention and development.
  • Identify continual improvement in the customer's overall experience with Eurofins by liaising with internal departments within Eurofins to ensure we meet our clients demands in a cost-effective manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring equipment and facilities is in good working condition and communicate, in a timely manner, to the relevant departments when an issue arises.
  • To work closely with operations in delivering service levels aligned to the agreements and commitments made to each customer.
  • Work with senior management and staff to ensure that the best interests of the company and continual improvement of service levels are achieved.
  • Purchasing

  • Ensure a continuous supply of required goods and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact the business to the Laboratory Manager.
  • Collaborate with other managers and departments to determine supply needs.
  • Ensure supplies are processed, approved, purchased and delivered in according to specifications in a timely manner.
  • Logistics

  • Liaising with customers and Eurofins Lablink regarding all collections and deliveries ensuring both laboratory and customer requirement are meet.
  • Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
  • Be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to motivate a team to get results.
  • Quality and Customer oriented with the ability to consistently work in industry and client standards.
  • Highly organised, methodical with a systematic approach to work.
  • Experience using LIMS system.
  • NCEA certificate in a related discipline or administrative qualification is preferable.
  • 2/3 Years in a simular position an advantage.
