    About us:

    The Risk & Quality team within the Tax Practice of PwC Ireland (Tax R&Q) currently comprises 11 members led by our Partner Joe Tynan. The Tax R&Q team is responsible for implementing the firm's risk and quality compliance programme for the Tax Practice (over 750+ staff) on an ongoing basis. This incorporates annual training programmes, carrying out engagement compliance reviews and business unit reviews and supporting the tax practice with their R&Q and contracting queries.

    The role:

    We are looking to recruit a Tax R&Q manager to work closely with the Tax R&Q Director implementing the firm's annual risk and quality compliance programme for the Tax Department. Working out of the Kilkenny office, the R&Q manager will be responsible for managing the SDC R&Q team who are based in Kilkenny.

    Responsibilities will include the following:

    • Managing the Tax R&Q Service Delivery Centre Team based in Kilkenny and their workflow.
    • Collating and distributing annual feedback to tax staff on R&Q Performance via Workday
    • Managing R&Q systems, procedures & tools
    • Communications with Tax Staff on key R&Q issues
    • Delivery of R&Q training to team members and tax staff
    • Monitoring controls and assisting with global reporting within the PwC Network.
    • Adapting new Tax R&Q processes when required for changes in legislation.
    • Assisting with the roll-out to the tax department of any new globally rolled out technology/systems or process changes.
    • Inputting into appropriate changes to be made to risk processes to ensure they are carried out as efficiently as possible.
    • Providing support to the Tax practice with R&Q queries throughout client engagements
    • Dealing with contracting and terms of business queries from engagement teams and clients
    • Liaising with teams across the firm (OGC, AML and Independence teams etc) on R&Q matters.

    You will have a key role in operating and supporting the administration of internal systems and processes designed to ensure compliance with risk and quality (R&Q) procedures within PwC's Tax department.

This role would provide an individual with the opportunity to understand the R&Q policies and procedures that are in place and the rationale behind these procedures. Working in a large firm with a global reach means that the team regularly interacts with teams across the firm's different departments and as the need arises, other territories.

    As PwC as a global network is on a digital agenda, our systems, technologies and procedures are constantly being updated so these developments afford our team the opportunity to upskill their digital skills. You will be working with a multitude of global systems like Salesforce, Workday, among others.

    As a manager , you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive industry experience, helping our engagement teams to carry out their R&Q procedures and to solve their queries. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Develop a thorough understanding of the firm's R&Q procedures

    • Manage the Tax R&Q team processing the firm's R&Q procedures for a portfolio of clients.
    • Embrace the digital transformation being undertaken in our business. Being motivated to familiarise yourself with these evolutions and to drive these technologies further in our day-to-day business.
    • Embrace changes in procedures arising as a result of changes in legislation and work with the Tax R&Q team to adopt any new globally rolled out technologies or systems
    • Assist in the ongoing management of internal relationships.
