The Hoban Hotel Kilkenny is cooking up a storm at the 1801 Restaurant and we are looking for a new Chef de Partie to become part of the team.

Our Hotel

The Four Star Hoban Hotel is named after James Hoban, a pioneering architect who was born in Kilkenny in 1755 and went on to design and build America's White House. It has become a contemporary open plan space which is smart and comfortable while incorporating rich, deep colours paired with statement pieces like trendy light fixtures and bold patterns. Our 1801 Restaurant starts the morning off with a breakfast buffet that has something for everyone. We also serve brunch and lunch, offering the freshest and most sumptuous sweet treats, salads, soups and sandwiches. We've put a lot of thought into our new menu where everything is freshly made and cooked to order and has been designed to satisfy every palette. We source local produce which is fully traceable. The Hoban Hotel Kilkenny is situated among a proud and rich heritage with some of the most popular tourist attractions in Ireland. Kilkenny City Centre offers and original and eclectic mix of designer labels, high street names and independent shops. You'll never run out of things to do with so much on offer across Ireland's ancient east.

Your New Role

You will have the opportunity to work as part of an enthusiastic and friendly kitchen team. You will demonstrate a positive attitude and flexible approach to work, and have the ability to communicate openly and effectively; and take pride in every aspect of what you produce to ensure the delivery of a high-quality guest experience in a team environment. We pride ourselves on the food we make with and specially selected offering of sumptuous blend of tastes and flavours where world cuisine meets the best of Irish.

Key responsibilities will include:

• To prepare all ingredients for service in the allocated section to the required standard, ensuring no wastage
• To cook food to the required specifications
• To ensure the smooth running of food service with restaurant personnel
• To ensure all special requests made by guests are met
• To work in an organised, hygienic manner at all times ensuring the HACCP regulations are adhered to
• To receive goods from suppliers, when required, and to ensure products conform with HACCP specifications
• To ensure all goods are stored correctly and hygienically in accordance with HACCP specifications
• To ensure correct rotation of stock as per HACCP requirements
• To adhere to cleaning schedules set out for the Kitchen

The ideal Candidate will be:

• HACCP trained
• Have a minimum of 1 years' experience in a similar role
• Must have previous experience in a busy hotel or restaurant
• Able to work in a pressurised environment
• Have excellent customer service skills
• Speak fluent English
