We're looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.

What is your role and your responsivities?

  • This position is a key member of the group finance team - the team in Ireland manage finance for all of the Carne group
  • Responsibility for tax provision (current and deferred tax) for our group results
  • Management of all tax compliance requirements of the group
  • Liaising with auditors, external advisors and tax authorities
  • Assist with preparation of entity financial statements (review from a tax perspective and tax notes)
  • Support the product teams regarding tax considerations for new and existing financial services products offered by the Carne group
  • Preparation of detailed tax charge forecasts and scenario analysis
  • Advise business units on taxation risks, threats and opportunities
  • Implementation of group tax strategy
  • Involvement in strategic planning initiatives and responsible for specific projects and tax planning
  • Responsible for tax assessments and planning for operational optimisation - existing structures, evolving operating models and acquisition activity
  • Deliver tax insights that help business leaders to make confident business decisions
  • Advise on business structuring, mergers and acquisitions, cross border expansion and financing
  • Contribute to market and business development activities
  • Focus on continuous improvement; innovation is part of Carne's DNA
  • Professional qualification in both Accounting and Tax (i.e. ACA/ACCA and AITI), with current membership of relevant recognised bodies
  • 5+ years relevant tax experience in industry or practice
  • Previous tax compliance and/or tax advisory experience - within the financial services industry is an advantage
  • Experience with merger and acquisition projects
  • Knowledge of multiple tax heads, local and international requirements and transfer pricing and ability to engage with external advisers/experts where needed
  • Strong IT skills - tax applications / ERPs / MS Office
