CompanyOur client is an export-focused Irish-based company specializing in processing, sales, and distribution of marine algae products into the animal nutrition market. The company has an established and growing business in this sector currently exporting to over 30 countries.Role summaryThe person in this position will learn about all facets of the business with the view of progressing through various areas of the organization and be part of succession planning into the longer term.Responsibilities * Get an initial basic overview of the business, visiting all sites locally and internationally * Get a full understanding of the natural raw material the business uses, how it is harvested and initially processed, before being shipped to Cork for further refinement * Learn all technical aspects around the final processing stages of the product * Work with the logistics team to gain insight into product shipment globally * Become acquainted with the existing distributor network and get to understand their technical and commercial challenges and how to work effectively with them * Engage in R&D and NPD discussions with the overall team and learn how to analyze existing market needs and challenges, likely future trends, and how the business needs to continually adapt in terms of product innovation * Learn how to identify new distributors for new markets and the process involved from initial contact to establishing them as distributor partners * Get to understand sales recording and reporting as well as an insight into financial management and reporting processes * All other miscellaneous, ‘ad hoc’ and general duties as requiredRequirementsBachelor’s/ Master’s in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/AgricultureExposure to Farming/Animal Health & Nutrition a benefitEager to learn all aspects of the businessExcellent English – verbal and writtenAvailability to work freely in Ireland (Co Cork)RemunerationRemuneration will be firmed up during the interview process but will be reflective of the graduate training nature of this role.
