Project/Automation EngineerAn exciting position has become available for a full time Project/Automation Engineer to join a controls company with over 40 years of industrial experience based in the Mid West. As Project / Automation Engineer will be expected to manage and coordinate projects from inception to completion and subsequent hand -over. You will also be expected to work as part of a Team, when deemed necessary. This is a fast paced, multi-disciplinary, cross-functional team environment.Role RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science, Electronics, Electro-mechanical, Electrical or equivalent training/experienceProficient in Microsoft word and ExcelExcellent communication skills – written and oralInstrumentation and measurement experience is a distinct advantageMethodical and analytical approach to problem solvingStrong understanding of Networking and communication protocols.Strong Customer relationship management skillsAbility to read and understand Process Descriptions and P& ID’sHighly motivated and Self starterGood team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Strong interest in automation engineering.Ability to travel – Valid, full, clean drivers licence.Must have right to work in Ireland/EUAdditional Skill / TrainingPLC / SCADA Automation EngineerThe following systems will be used experience in one or multiple systems would is required:Allen BradleySiemensABBDesign and programming of PLC/HMI control SystemsSCADA Software Development and Integration – requirementHigh level language programming and practical knowledge of vision systems including Cognex VPro and Insight are desirableSCADA experience ICON, Intouch, Wonderware, WinCCAND / ORBMS Automation EngineerThe following systems will be used experience in one or multiple systems would is required:CylonTridiumTrendRole ResponsibilitiesPlan, implement and manage engineering projects at each phase including planning, design, documentation, software/graphics, installation, commissioning (and/or) validation and hand-over to client as required.Strong hardware & software abilities is required.Assist in controls & automation designs for projects.Preparation of Functional Design Specification (FDS) and Detailed Design Specification (DDS) from the User Requirement Specification (URS).Develop, test and install high quality control software code (PC and or HMI)Testing of control panels and automation including Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT).Operational and Maintenance Manuals (O&M’s) must be complied per project.Work in a cross functional multidiscipline team environment / individually as a project demands.Fault finding within systems and correction of same.Maintain comprehensive documentation.Give reports back on projects completed.Support product, platform by delivering qualified systems.Technical Support and make informed decisions on hardware and architecture selections.Drive process improvements through identification of problem areas/opportunities.Commissioning on site.OpportunitiesEnsure that you meet the Quality requirements of our customers.Develop monthly (or otherwise) metrics and management reports.Ensure that the company safety standards are met and safe-working practices adhered to.Any other task as assigned by Management taking into account your training skills and experience.If you’re the ideal candidate our client is looking for, please send your CV by clicking the APPLY buttonKeywords: Automation, Engineer, BMS, PLC, Develop, Test, Install, Software, Pharma, Medical Devices, Healthcare, Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTP), Process, Integration, Communication, Technical
