    In the SES team, you will be responsible for a fast-growing program with broad-reaching and a service wide impact. As a member of the SES engineering team, your job will allow you to work with customers and other technology leaders at Amazon to help translate strategic business needs into features and projects. You will then work with your team to deliver those features and projects more quickly than many people may think is possible. We are seeking a hands-on engineering manager for a mid-sized team, with the experience and familiarity in designing, building, and operating large-scale web, fault-tolerant, and distributed systems. You will be leading a team of SDEs and directing their work to ensure the team delivers the right quality, functions, and features required for the latest in email technology.     This position involves on-call responsibilities. We don't like being paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault-tolerant.     BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    7+ years of engineering experience
    - 3+ years of engineering team management experience including coaching and developing careers of engineers
    - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
    - Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
    - Experience partnering with product or program management teams

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience with large scale web and distributed systems.
    - Experience in designing and building fault-tolerant distributed systems.
