    We are excited to be working with a leading Life (Re)insurance organisation, who have a vacancy to join the Research and Development Team. This position would suit a Qualified Actuary coming from a life (re)insurance background with extensive experience in a reporting role. This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to take on Managerial responsibilities in a newly established, growing team. You will be involved in examining a range of reinsurance transactions covering a varied portfolio and assisting and managing precise research on the analysis of risk, market developments and the latest actuarial methodologies.

    About the Research and Development role

    This role will report to the Head of Research and Development. Duties for the Research and Development role include (but are not limited to):

  • Analysing various aspects of pricing and basis setting for both existing and recently developed markets
  • Create models using innovative software platforms to support the businesses efficient use of technology
  • Manage and guide a team of Junior and trainee actuaries
  • Analyse to support the pricing of new and visionary transactions, working with varied teams in the pricing and execution of new transactions.
  • Work with implementing new business opportunities by working with associated functions
  • Assist company wide model development and basis management
  • Actuarial skills required

    This Research and Development role is best suited to an experienced Qualified Actuary from Life background. Candidates will ideally have experience of the following:

  • 2+ years working as a Qualified Actuary
  • Strong IT skills and Modelling skills, has previously worked with statistical packages and actuarial modelling software
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Positive attitude, hardworking and great communication skills
  • Ability to cross functionally collaborate
  • Great problem-solving abilities with precise decision making skills
  • Driven actuary and results orientated
