    Description

    Financial Accountant

    This is a role within our client's wholly owned Irish subsidiary, a Circa 20m Revenue business with global connections. The position will work closely with the newly hired CFO and offers an excellent progression pathway to becoming a financial controller.

    The ideal candidate will be ambitious and take ownership of responsibilities, learning a great deal on the job.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Performance Monitoring: Utilize timely key metrics to monitor business performance, analyzing it against pre-agreed KPIs and budget targets. Prepare reports and present findings to senior management as needed.
    • Monthly Management Accounts: Own the preparation process, incorporating balance sheet account reconciliations, stock count coordination, gross margin monitoring, and overhead analysis.
    • Cash Management: Oversee cash flow within the business, streamlining procedures, documenting cash collection processes, and preparing weekly cash flow projections. Lead the cash flow aspects of the annual reporting budget exercise.
    • Payroll and Remuneration: Manage all aspects of company payroll, ancillary staff remuneration payments, and related reports. Initiate the provision of weekly/monthly 'people cost' KPI reports, manage the annual staff cost budgeting process, and maintain relationships with payroll software suppliers.
    • Tax Compliance: Monitor all aspects of tax compliance in relation to staff remuneration policies and procedures. Work with HR to establish internal controls and document policies and procedures to avoid inadvertent breaches of tax law.
    • Annual Audit: Assist the CFO in all aspects of the annual audit process.
    • Tax Returns and Compliance: Assist the CFO in preparing VAT, Excise & Corporation Tax returns and ensuring all aspects of tax compliance, particularly VAT & Excise Duty compliance, are met according to current legislation.
    • Treasury Management: Assist the CFO in all aspects of treasury management, including implementing and documenting controls.
    • Reporting Budget: Assist the CFO in the annual Reporting Budget preparation process.
    • Accounts Receivable: Supervise the accounts receivable process, including invoicing and collections.
    • Fixed Assets: Responsible for all aspects of the financial management of the group's fixed assets.

    Benefits: Salary €60-65k plus benefits.

    Work Arrangement: 3 days in Citywest, 2 days at home.
