Overview

A compassionate Director of Nursing is sought for a 32-bed facility in Sligo, where they will foster a warm atmosphere and deliver high-quality care while ensuring HIQA compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the nursing team to maintain resident-centered care standards.
• Develop and oversee nursing policies and procedures to ensure HIQA standards.
• Maintain knowledge of HIQA regulations and lead preparation for inspections.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support a cohesive team environment.
• Mentor nursing staff to enhance skills and growth.
• Oversee nursing budgets and resources to maximize patient care outcomes.

Qualifications

• Educational background: completion of a management course. Min 3 years management experience.
• Proven management experience in a healthcare setting, meeting regulatory standards and managing HIQA inspection processes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration.
• Solid understanding of HIQA regulations and diversity, equality, and inclusion principles in healthcare delivery.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Engage with interdisciplinary teams to prioritise resident care.
• Conduct regular meetings with nursing staff to share updates and encourage improvement.
• Monitor and analyse staff performance data to identify areas for development.
• Offer hands-on support and guidance to nursing staff in complex care situations.
• Ensure compliance with all HIQA regulations and conduct regular audits and assessments.

Salary

€60,000 - €80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
