    for a position at the Berlin State Office of CriminalInvestigation in the MDSD network implementation group (mass dataand dirty data network) Reference number:

    Full-time with 39.4hours per week (part-time employment may be possible)
    Location: Gothaer Str. 19, 10823 Berlin-Schöneberg (with very goodtransport connections)

    The Berlin police aresetting up a so-called mass data and dirty data network (MDSDnetwork for short) to support investigators in analyzing largevolumes of evidence data. As a modern, central platform, thisisolated network offers not only the provision of specializedevaluation and analysis software and support, but also far-reachingpotential for other future applications.
    In order toprovide our colleagues with efficient and up-to-date access totheir digital evidence, we are working on expanding the MDSDnetwork on a daily basis. In doing so, we are not only treadingfamiliar paths, but also breaking new ground and inviting you tobecome part of our team.

    This area ofresponsibility awaits you:

    Collaboration inthe special and unusual requirements of setting up, commissioningand further developing the MDSD network to support investigators inevaluating large quantities of evidence.

    Thisincludes in particular:

    • Programand software development, in particular using common high-level andscripting languages (especially JAVA, PowerShell),
    • the development and establishment of software solutionsand procedures for new IT forensic tasks
    • thedevelopment of solutions for new unknown problems and theirpractical implementation in software using common developmentenvironments,
    • configuring, setting up andtesting IT systems and IT forensic tools,
    • advising internal and external communication partners as part ofdevelopment projects,
    • thescientific/analytical implementation of planning projects and newdevelopments
    • the organization andimplementation of needs-based, qualified support in the areas of ITforensics and cybercrime
    • advising specialistdepartments, exchanging and acquiring information and carrying outtechnical development projects and
    • organizing, preparing and coordinating training and furthertraining measures for various users in the aforementioned technicalareas of responsibility

    You have...

    • a master's degree in computerscience or a comparable course of study or comparablequalifications with relevant specialist knowledge and several yearsof professional experience,
    • sound knowledgeof Java/knowledge of another high-level language,
    • knowledge of common development paradigms(object-oriented, TDD) and tools (versioning, CI/CD, common designpatterns) and
    • Experience in scriptinglanguages (automation).

    Alsodesirable are:

    • Experience infront-end and database development,
    • Experience in modeling business processes,
    • Knowledge of the functioning of virtualized server networks and
    • Knowledge of project and quality management.
