    Position DescriptionAt Networks Telecoms, we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of utility telecommunications, playing a pivotal role in the seamless operation of modern electricity networks.

    As a Telecoms Senior Professional in Networks Telecoms, you will be a key member of the telecoms service and deployment teams.

    Working in a collaborative and inclusive environment where your contributions are valued and recognised, you will be part of a team committed to maintaining and supporting a high-performing operational network.

    In this position, you will manage work activities and resource planning to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
    You will ensure that our network management processes and structures are actively maintained and continually improved.

    This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful operation and future development of ESB's national telecommunications network and supporting the achievement of the ESB Networks Net Zero Strategy.


    Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork Service and Maintenance:
    Oversee the ongoing maintenance and service of a wide variety of telecoms equipment, ensuring reliability and performance.
    Manage the team's task queue, prioritising urgent tasks and ensuring timely completion

    Safety Leadership:
    Champion safety protocols and practices, ensuring all projects adhere to stringent safety standards.
    Promote a culture of safety and compliance across all project phases

    Technology Integration:
    Oversee the integration of new infrastructure into ESB's telecoms network, ensuring seamless deployment and operation.
    Utilise best practices and industry standards to drive project success

    Resource Planning:
    Define resources and capability, estimate efforts, and plan project stages from initiation to closure

    Contractor Management:
    Co-ordinate and manage contractors, ensuring they meet project requirements and standards

    Project Management Methodology:
    Ensure the ESB Project Management Methodology is used during all project phases from initiation to closure, and that all activities are meticulously planned and executed

    Effective Communication:
    Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle

    Collaborative Environment:
    Develop a collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and open communication across all teams, including contractor resources

    Support Leadership Functions:
    Assist other leadership functions within the organisation, providing strategic input and support to enhance overall project and organisational success

    On-Call Engineer Role:
    Participate in an on-call or availability rota to provide technical support and ensure rapid response to critical issues.
    Act as a lead technical liaison for critical customer groups, understanding their requirements and expectations.

    Experience & Qualifications3rd Level qualification or minimum of 3 years relevant experienceFull driving licence and access to a carProven leadership experience and stakeholder managementExperience in delivering significant work programmes or project/contract deliveryFlexible approach to work, with a focus on excellent customer serviceStrong communication and report writing skillsProven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple prioritiesPSDP/PSCS competencyKnowledge of telecommunications technologies and protocolsExperience with preparation of safety documentationFamiliarity with project management methodologiesTechnical knowledge of electrical and/or telecommunications networksExperience with writing and publishing with documentation management systemLocationThere are currently 3 positions across our three different locations:
    ESB regional offices in Leopardstown, Rosbrien and Sligo.
    Flexibility for travel to meetings in other ESB offices or sites throughout Ireland is required.
