Marie Bechtel

With a completed apprenticeship, bachelor's degree and Gender Studies certificate (Equality, Queer Studies, Inclusion, Diversity) & over 7 years of professional experience, I'm specialised in the fields of HR, Administration, History, Communication and PR. I will finish my certificate in April and I am looking forward to taking the next step in my career with a job where I can contribute my expertise in a meaningful way and also grow personally and professionally. 

In my HR position at newport.takkt I gained relevant experience. During the Corona cisis I took over sole responsibility in the area of HR, personnel administration, recruitment and online communications. Furthermore, I dealt with the topics of diversity, inclusion and gender equality and was able to manage to implement a few changes, such as introducing gender-sensitive language, an gender sensitive addendum for job advertisements and the inclusion of a barrier-free office design.

During my Gender Studies Certificate, I also took the opportunity to gain knowledge of marketing and PR. Due to the fact that this job provides very interesting marketing know-how and technical skills, it is not quite my passion in terms of content, which is why i found great joy in maintaining an small Instagram account as a hobby, which educates about gender and queerness in history - from antiquity to the present day. 

Most recently, I devoted myself intensively to the topics of gender, dis_abled and diversity studies at the University in Halle, where I was able to deepen my knowledge in an interdisciplinary way, learn about the current state of research through excellent lecturers and expand my network.
