About Julie Phillips:
Re: Teacher position.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Good afternoon, I am writing to you about your advertised job position. I’m a highly experienced teacher with seven years’ successful work in the education and childcare field. I hold CELTA certification from International House and I have a 2.1 BA Hons degree from the University of Kent.
In the development of my career, I progressed from running my own costume business and assisting top fashion designers in London Fashion Week to working for an elite secondary school in Thailand. Since then, I have been teaching in classrooms of all ages in various corners of the world, helping design course content for well-respected companies, whilst running my own freelance educational services online. I have a genuine passion for teaching which has led me to many joyful years in this sector. I find it nourishing to witness the development of my students and the lasting impact on both families and the institutions themselves.
Amongst the achievements of which I am most proud are: working for the reputable British Council, teaching in less developed countries coping with minimal facilities, proudly delivering vibrant lessons, and creating course content for British Council’s Eastern European markets. In addition, I was commended for contributing to the success of the English program sales, while simultaneously maintaining long-standing freelance clients.
This year, I chose to take a sabbatical from my position at British Council and ventured to Africa to challenge myself professionally during this globally unpredictable time. I created my own business of home-schooling expatriate students based in Zanzibar, Tanzania. I was responsible for all management, teaching, and every logistical aspect of this business.
I have attached my Curriculum Vitae to demonstrate the applicability of my skill set for your teaching vacancy. I would enjoy having the opportunity to talk with you more about this role, and how I would relish the opportunity to exercise my expertise to benefit your organisation.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
Julie Phillips
Experience
Spent 7 years working for language centres, Primary schools and Secondary schools across the globe. It has been an amazing experience immersing myself into so many various cultures.
Futhermore, I tutored and looked after children in a private household in Switzerland and I even opened my own homeschooling centre during the pandemic in Tanzania, Africa.
Lastly, proudly and joyfully worked for the British Council, where I have been in charge of helping design course content, delivering vibrant lessons, and contributing to the success of the English program sales.
